Ingredients
14 servings
- 250 g butter (softened)
- 200 g sugar
- 1 pack vanilla sugar
- 4 pc egg (medium)
- 350 g wheat flour
- 1 pack baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 100 ml milk (for the base batter)
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 2 tbsp sugar (for the cocoa batter)
- 4 tbsp milk (for the cocoa batter)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (top/bottom heat) and thoroughly grease and flour a Bundt or loaf pan.
- Cream the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar, then beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, then briefly stir into the mixture alternating with the 100 ml of milk.
- Spoon two-thirds of the light-colored batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Mix the remaining batter with the cocoa powder, 2 tbsp sugar, and 4 tbsp milk until smooth, then layer on top.
- Draw a cake fork in a spiral motion through both layers of batter to create the signature marbled look.
- Bake the cake for about 50-55 minutes, let it cool briefly in the pan, then turn it out onto a wire rack.
