Ingredients
6 servings
- 2 pc ripe avocados (e.g., Hass)
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 pc small tomato (seeded and finely diced)
- 1/2 pc small onion (very finely diced)
- 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 pinch chili flakes or finely minced jalapeño (optional)
Method
- Cut the avocados in half lengthwise, twist to separate, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out into a medium bowl.
- Mash the avocado flesh with a fork, leaving it slightly chunky or mashing until perfectly smooth according to your preference.
- Stir in the fresh lime juice immediately to enhance flavor and prevent the avocado from oxidizing and turning brown.
- Fold in the finely diced tomato, minced onion, and chopped fresh cilantro leaves.
- Season the guacamole with the salt and add chili flakes or minced jalapeño if you prefer a spicy kick.
- Mix all ingredients gently until well combined, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve immediately with tortilla chips. Makes about 6 servings.
