Ingredients
25 servings
- 500 g butter
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 1 head of garlic, cloves finely chopped
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs, chopped (e.g. parsley, chives, thyme, tarragon, and Thai basil)
Method
- Finely chop the onion and garlic.
- Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat and let it slowly turn golden brown. Add the onion and garlic and let them brown along with it, stirring occasionally, until fragrant and lightly caramelized.
- Remove from the heat and let cool briefly, until the butter is firm enough to work with but still pliable.
- Finely chop the herbs and stir into the butter along with salt and pepper.
- Shape the herb butter into a log on plastic wrap, wrap tightly, and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour until firm. Cut into 25 slices and serve.
