Ingredients

2 servings

  • 720 g chicken drumsticks (6 pieces)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds
  • 1 spring onion
  • pepper

Method

  1. Mix the soy sauce, honey, pressed garlic, paprika and sesame oil. Set half aside for the glaze.
  2. Pat the drumsticks dry, score them several times down to the bone and mix with the other half of the marinade. Marinate in the fridge for at least 20 minutes, better 2 hours.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Place the drumsticks on a lined tray and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Reduce the reserved marinade in a small pan for 2–3 minutes until syrupy. Brush it over the drumsticks and bake for another 12–15 minutes until dark and glossy, brushing again after 7 minutes.
  5. They are cooked through when clear juices run from the thickest part (core temperature at least 75 °C). Sprinkle with sesame and spring onion rings.
